Our Stake Laurel High Adventure was planned very late in the year, not ideal. School has already started so we missed a lot of girls that weren't able to come. It was still H.O.T.
We arrived a bit late and hurried to set up camp before we lost light. Dinner took a while to get going, but many hands make light work. I still think of aaaaaallllllll those bugs stuck to the top of the rice crispy treats. Several pans... full of stuck bugs.
The location was great, and I do love Goblin Valley. That night, after dinner we went down to the hoodoos. We split into two teams to play capture the flag, each team had a color of glow stick necklace. We used glow sticks to make a boarder line across the field. It was so fun! There was no moon that night, so the starts were amazing. I took quite a tumble down a dirt mountain in the dark and didn't realize the damage until the next day when I had better light. When I landed I just laid there, staring at the beautiful starry sky, then quietly removed my glow necklace and hobbled back to the leaders and no one was the wiser. It was fiiine.
All of us female stake leaders slept in a pop-up trailer, which was not ideal- just so hot! Overall, I was glad to check this activity off my list!
I did take tons of pictures because Jon has booked our family a Yurt for October. (May I add- the ideal time to go.)
