School Starts 2019

We're back from Cruisin', and diving back in to all the things.
The big boys are getting real excited about skateboarding. Adren wants me to film him to see how far he gets off the ground.
And poor Eli's legs! He is committed!
Let's take a quick break and talk about these countertops...
All my wildest dreams have come true!

I started on the hardware as soon as it arrived. I couldn't find anything through our cabinet guy. He was worried that I would take a long time to get them on, which would goop up the cabinets and they wouldn't come back to put them on, so he was worried about that. (He did offer to put mine on, if they arrived for the final cabinet fitting, but the hardware would arrive after.) I assured him I would get them on right away, I know me!
It was a sweaty job, drilling into those beauties, but I did it and I love it.
I just have to take a moment and love how far we've come, how hard we've worked, and how lovely it is all coming together. So happy!
And then I had to take a moment and laugh when the blender exploded while making an after school slushee drink for Zeke and his two friends. It was dripping off my lashes! I was completely soaked. I turned around, laughing and the three boys were just sitting there with their jaws on the counter top.
Okay. Back to School!
It is so strange to go to Back-to-School night with just little Zekey. What a sweetie.
The Elementary has totally revamped their parking lot/ drop-off area. It was dug up all summer and even a week before it didn't look promising. But they pulled it off just in time.
Adren Aaron off to TENTH grade! A Sophomore at Provo High School.
I have to chuckle at his first day. He didn't really do his hair, he wanted to wear my Alaska sweatshirt I had just brought home, and he didn't realize it here, but he's wearing my stretch mom jeans! I think I wore that exact outfit two days later to run errands.
Eli Taylor off to NINTH grade! A Freshman at Provo High School. Cuuuute!
Next is cutie-pie Paisley Elaine. SEVENTH grade at Dixon Middle School.
I could feel her nerves, and though I knew she'd be fine, I sure was praying hard for her!
There she goes, off to catch her bus. Gulp.
And finally, Zeke Christian starting FIFTH grade at Lakeview Elementary. His English teacher is Mrs. Pratt, and his Portuguese teacher is Proffessora Aquino.

I started back to school today myself, off to do my Lunch Clerk duties at my school. It was fun to see all the ladies and kids.
What great kids, off to a great start of surely a great school year! Happy 2019~2020!

Real quick, we were able to spend a quick weekend at Carol and Conways place with Jon's family. It was nice to chat and catch up with them, I always enjoy chatting with Carol- she's so great! The kids played at the lake, watched movies together and played games with cousins.

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
