A Family Wedding!

How exciting, Romney and Austin's wedding day is coming up! It was fun to do her makeup on the day of her "First Look" video.
It took us Sista's a minute to get our act together for the shower, but once we did, it was fabulous!
Ashley reserved her clubhouse, which was the perfect venue, and suggested we do a "brunch" type shower, which was delicious! I put together a breakfast hash, which turned out divine.
Everything was!
So fun celebrating Romney at this very exciting time!
Her ceremony at the Payson Temple was so beautiful, the weather perfect. As the kids got to wait they watched church movies~ and we spotted our very own celebrity!
We love seeing our Cade in the movies!
We went on to have a lovely luncheon at Tammy Aaron's clubhouse in Lehi given by Austin's family. Afterwards we went to work, decorating and getting everything set up for the beautiful reception. Sadie had thought of everything, once again, and it looked so gorgeous! She served soups, rolls and donuts. They even had a donut cake!
Us Sista's bustled around and did what we do- refill the food table and take charge of the kitchen! At one point in the kitchen, we pulled the insert out of the crock pot to refill the Taco Soup. I didn't dare carry it, so Ashley bravely stepped in. She had towels wrapped around it, and I told her to follow me, I'd clear a path. (It was packed to the max!) We were almost to the table when I heard Ashley in a panicked voice behind me say, "It's slipping!" I stepped aside just as she sort-of tossed that crock towards the table as it slipped out of her hands. All of a sudden, taco soup was everywhere. It seemed a hush fell over the room as people gathered around and just stared. I still remember the face Ashley had when we both looked at each other in disbelief. HA! It was truly unbelievable. As Eli recounted what he saw, "I thought the soup was going to reach the ceiling!" Well, we bustled around that table like worker ants and it was put back (somehow?!?) in no time. Rolls, bowls and tea lights covered in soup were whisked away and replaced. Somehow the dark green table cloth underneath was removed, rinsed, wringed and replaced (thank heavens for forest green jersey fabric!~who knew???)  You wouldn't even know a disaster happened, and the ravenous crowd seemed not to care one bit, as Abby ladled soup from the table back into the crock and that crowd just ladled it right back into their bowls.
Ashely and I could see by the rate things were being devoured and the amount of food we had left we'd be empty handed soon enough. We mopped our brows and made a mad dash to nearby Harmon's for more soup and desserts to re-fill. I tell ya, it was a night to remember and this family is the best!

"I don't think anyone is going to come to this reception" ~ Sadie
Happy Wedding Day, Romney and Austin!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
