The Great Outdoors

You can see I spend a lot of my days re-decorating, sewing, cleaning and organizing~ all fun stuff. But What does Jon do? Well, let me tell you~ when Jon has some free time, he HIKES. You could say he's got the bug and is always itching to scale the gorgeous mountains around us. Sometimes he goes alone, sometimes we all go with him. Sometimes he grabs a kid or two to join him. Sometimes he gets nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-laws to join him. I love looking at the gorgeous pictures he brings back. Gorgeous.

When we were hanging out at Rock Canyon Park, he pointed out this flag waaaaay up there to show me where he'd reached.

One evening we met up at Granny and Grandpa's and they joined up with some of the Whitmores and Bocanegra's and hiked Baldy. I heard it was a dooooozy.

As the colors start to change our Rocky Mountains light up. So pretty!

We took the kids up to Big Springs. It was beautiful and peaceful. On the way down we veered from the trail and came across this odd tee-pee. As the kids were exploring I realized there had been a bon-fire and logs set around for seating. It suddenly became very creepy and we hurried back to the trail.

Jon checked Eli out of school and they went on a day hike and loved it.

I'll have Jon write about The Big One~ he and Will, Kate, Matt, Abby, Mallerie, Shafer, Cade and Ashley hiked to tippy top of Timp!
