40th Birthday weekend get-away!

The girls~ Jen, Devron, Sarah, Kim~ and I have been talking about this for years. It started out grand plans to fly somewhere like California. We are all busy moms so then it moved a little closer to Las Vegas. It's really impossible to find a weekend we're all free, so maybe St. George. Well, it ended up being in Park City because after all, we just want to be together and catch up and shop and eat yummy things! I love these gals. I love our history. I love that we just jump right in to the good conversation within minutes of seeing each other.

We dived right into some heavy duty shopping. We shopped and shopped for hours and hours. At one point we were sharing dressing rooms and had piles and piles we were trying to talk ourselves into whittling down while someone else was convincing the other why we needed every item in the overflowing carts.
We stayed up way too late every night talking and laughing and catching up on every detail of our lives. We stayed in a little vacation house of one of Devron's good friends who were kind enough to let us. We rearranged the family room furniture around a bit. Because it needed some rearranging. It really did. And it felt better after.
Our surroundings were so gorgeous! It finally started feeling like fall this weekend, with sprinklings of rain and crisp air.

I wish this picture did this rainbow justice. It is the most vibrant and gorgeous rainbow I have ever seen!
I love these girls and my life is richer because of them! I love their examples, their experiences, their diverse opinions about things that get me thinking. I love our fun memories we can still laugh over. Dear Kim is going through a real rough patch in life, and I came home with a heavy heart over her situation. I really hope things can go better for her and she can find peace. I hope this weekend was helpful for her.
We all turn 40 within a month of each other, then Kimbo in the spring. Happy Birthday to US!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
