What a bunch of cuties. I'd say excited cuties, but this is the first year they weren't giddy like years past. They must be getting smarter.
Adren is in big 5th grade with Miss. Nielson. Like Miss. Nielson is missing- that's how I remember. 5th grade was a memorable year for me, that year our school experimented with combining 4th and 5th grades together so Abby was in my class. It was so fun, and I remember it all so clearly. It's strange to think Adren is in that place now.
Eli is a 4th grader with Mrs. Wing~ our second year with her. She means business and is not timid with sending home oodles of homework, but I really like her and I think she'll be good for Eli.
Paisley is a 2nd grader with her teacher of choice, Mr. L~ also our second year with him. He's laid back and fun, so I think Paisley will enjoy him.
And little Zeke- not starting yet for another week. Big Kindy for him with Mrs. Sarkady. (my secret hoping came true!) She'll be great and knows our family well.
So you see, I have all FOUR of my babies at Lakeview for the next 2 years! I love it. I love being at the school with them and plan on doing plenty of volunteering so I can see them as much as I can.
Let me tell you about Zeke starting Kindergarten. It is a big step in a little guys life. One morning I told him we could go get some things for him for school. He ran and got dressed up in his shopping attire.
This little guy- My baby! He could not have been more excited, all morning long just counting down the minutes until afternoon Kindergarten started. I had that familiar lump in my throat getting him all ready, all smiles just trying to keep it together.
He'd made his little cut-out guy and had it ready to hang in the classroom, his new backpack he'd picked out and just could not have looked sweeter that day.
We shared big hugs and I watched him hang up his things and go sit on the rug. That's where I slip down my sunglasses and drive home sniffling and wondering where the time has gone. He LOVES Kindergarten. He loves everything about it. I love that he's got 3 older siblings that can pick him up and walk home together. Gone are the frazzled days of me racing to the school to pick up, feeling guilty I've made the teacher wait. Phew! He's made several friends, and I love helping out once a week in there on ipad day. It is soooo strange this day has come! Really.
