Kick-off to Fall Break!

When my best pal Jen called to see if we wanted to use a couple of nights at their awesome resort up in gorgeous Park City at the peak of fall, boasting indoor and outdoor heated pools, my first instinct was.....no. Jon would be out of town, it would be crazy for me with all four kids on my own, how would I find the place- Jon usually handles all the navigating and lugging items on a getaway. And I'd have to pull the kids out of school two days before fall break starts. And I really should be using those days cleaning the house, shopping and preparing to leave to Bear Lake for the big Taylor Family Reunion just days away. And my other best pal, Devron has just had major surgery and could use an extra hand. As usual, it doesn't take much for Jen to talk me into something, and boy am I glad she did!
Just look at this place!

I called the Boci's to join me~ partly because I needed help finding the place, and they were on board immediately. Matt had googled the place so I followed them and they helped me get the car unloaded. We spent the evening swimming, a great time all around. We hit the local McDonnald's for dinner. Thanks, Bocanegra's!
I had to chuckle~ when I opened the trunk to bring in our bags, I could see little Paisley had done quiet a bit of packing. (she'd had all day, afterall) She had stuffed in her comforter off her bed and even her rug off her floor! We couldn't find her swimsuit in her bag and she kept insisting she'd brought it. Later when I unpacked the car I found it wadded up inside her pencil box under her seat.
The next couple of days were spent relaxing like this:

I mean, really. Did you have to twist my arm???

Jon was able to join up with us one night, when he flew in from Colorado. The kids were so excited to see him, as was I. He was off to work the next morning. So we did some of this:

Such a fun time! Thanks, Larsen's!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
