Adren is EIGHT!

This is a big one! I just can't believe my little A is now 8 years of age! Boy has he been excited for this birthday! He has gotten so tall and so handsome, and still has so much little boy in him.
We sent out his invitations- a large "8" cut out of card stock, with all the info. He invited about 17 kids (gulp!) Luckily only about 13 came. (double gulp!)

I had plenty of games planned including some flag football and a scavenger hunt where the kids had to find a list of Adren's favorite things. I had found double of everything so they were looking for the exact thing on the poster. It turned out great~ the only time the party was calm.
A little "Pin the Face/Body parts on the Zombie", a moaning Zombie game, a Pinata, a ghost hunt, you get the idea. It sure was a loud, crazy group of kids. I tell you what, when the party is over, it is over!

The CAKE!
He opened all of his presents that morning before school. Eli was just as excited for each thing he opened. They both go bonkers over the same stuff.

You've heard of "Air Guitar", but have you ever seen "Air Rifle"??? (in his new Halo shirt)

I chose to do a big number "8" for his cake. I mean, eight is a big deal, right?
I sent him some cute treats to give out at school, it sounds like he got all the attention and fun he wanted. After the party we had all the grandparents over for some dinner and cake and ice cream and more love and gifts. I know he loved his day and kept saying, "I can't believe I'm finally eight!"
Ahhhhhh, I can't either!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
