Adren's Baptism

I promise he really was excited for his first suit
The day finally arrived and the countdown finally counted down. It was sweet for me to hear Adren a few days before say to Eli how excited he was to finally become a member of the Church. We spent a lot of FHE's talking about the big day and preparing! With Kate, Landrie and Adren just weeks apart it seemed extra special to combine all three cousins baptism and confirmation to one day. What a neat opportunity!
I was busy that morning getting the final preparations ready to host everyone at our home afterwards, so when Adren walked in wearing his new suit it caught me off guard and made me cry! Jon had taken him out to get it~ something Jon had looked forward to for a while~ so this was the first I saw him. So grown up!
We met up with everyone at the church. Quite a group! It was hard to maintain a reverent atmosphere when everyone was so excited to see each other. Kate and Landrie looked beautiful in their matching baptism dresses!

We had plenty of time for pictures!

Best cousins! Grayson had been baptized and confirmed just five months before.

What sweetie pies!
The program was wonderful, Grandma Geertsen gave a wonderful talk on baptism, Granny Taylor gave a wonderful talk on receiving the Holy Ghost and all the grand kids got up and sang I Am A Child Of God  acapella. It was so pretty! How special it was to sit next to Sadie and Eliza as we watched our children one by one get baptized and confirmed. Each one just beaming. Lindsey Taylor was nice to play the piano- she ended playing for a long time which was much appreciated! Christine and Shafer gave prayers. We have a great Bishop who conducted, overall it was just wonderful. Granny Taylor had given the three kids a "Baptism Key"~ on a pink ribbon for the girls, a key chain with a light for Adren.

Don't they look sweet, freshly baptized and confirmed!
Back at the house we had a big lunch~ sloppy joes, lots of salads, chips, desserts~ a real party! Our neighborhood happened to have a block party that day, which was perfect timing for closing off our street to let the kids ride bikes and play a game of soccer in the road. Then Daddy took the kids swimming later.
What a great day! I am so blessed to be surrounded by such a wonderful, supportive family. Adren told me it was the best day of his life. It really was!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
