I hosted this book for September in my neighborhood Book Group. Jon snapped this pic while I was setting up, and took the camera so I cannot show you the finishing product with the pastel plates, 1960's vintage housewife prints I set out, the fresh flowers etc. But you can get the idea with Minny's chocolate pie (wink-wink) and caramel cake, deviled eggs, ambrosia salad and Pink Lady Pie. I made a batch of punch that reminded me of one my Grandma Taylor used to make. One email to the sista's and my head was swimming with ideas and inspiration. They all helped me come up with some great recipes and food ideas. Lots of whip cream and fruit and nuts, it seems was a part of every recipe back then. It was a great turn-out and a great discussion. I have some fun gals in my ward. We even got together a week later and saw the movie together.
