The ONLY decor I have for this holiday is some green shamrocks I bought before we even had any kids. This year I decided to break them out of the package and decorate the chandelier above the kitchen table. Abby clued me in on some little leprechauns she hides around the house, so I ordered some in clearance last year, and hid them around the downstairs. The kids were sure to wear green PJ's. the night before (as did I) but of course, Jon forgot. (hee-hee)
I got up and made green pancakes first thing, which kicked off the day of fun!
Adren had a 1st grade program, "Life of a First Grader", which was so cute to hear songs he's been learning and poems.
(He did wear a striped green dress shirt under that sweater. I think he wanted to be pinched and then bust out the shirt underneath.)
He sure has had a great first grade year, he has such a wonderful teacher, (who wrote the play) and has made such improvement in his reading! He's doing great!
Then for dinner I made Irish Stew, green breadsticks, green Apple Beer and mint brownies for dessert.
It was an extra warm day so the backyard was full of friends- a reminder of what is in store for summer. We haven't had that for a while. The kids would start collecting the leprechauns they found, then I'd take them and quickly hide them again~ because we all know leprechauns don't like to be caught. They were so baffled! They have enjoyed playing with them this past week. It's a hit! Overall, St. Pattie's was a success!
