Paisley's first day of PRESCHOOL!

Ahhh, such mixed emotions sending off my little girl! On one hand I know this is good for her and she needs assistance with her talking skills, and she is learning things she wouldn't with me here at home. On the other hand, she is still so little! Only three! And I know, if given the choice she'd much rather be at home with her mommy. She is still so little! We've been talking this up for a while, we went and visited her teacher, whom she was excited to see, and her classroom and where she'll hang her backpack on her little butterfly hook. I took her out yesterday, just she and I and got some more clothing items, some socks, cute undies and a present for her classroom. We came home and wrapped it together. I asked her where a safe place would be to keep it and her face lit up, "I have idea! My backpack!" and ran and got it. She really is sounding better and I really am curious what this year will bring. Today for the most part she has been excited about the bus coming but every now and then would sort of change her mind. Tug on the heart strings. I got her all bathed and dressed in her adorable outfit, which she loves. She insists on dressing herself, shoes and hair flower. She does such a great job. We had a snack with Eli and Zeke, then while we waited for that bus to come we read a book together about riding a bus to school, which kept getting her excited. Finally Jon came home- which I was so grateful for because I had to take Eli soon on his first day, and still no bus. I started getting the sinking feeling I was going to miss seeing her off.  I hope this is not going to be a problem this year! We all went outside to watch for it, and finally I really needed to get Eli to school, so I gave my little Paisley a kiss and a tight hug, told her I loved and I'd see her after school. She was all smiles and waved me off. So cute in her little backpack! When I got back I had missed her :( But Jon said she did just great, laughing and all smiles when it pulled up, gave her dad a big hug and kiss once she was sitting down and waved him off! I'm so glad! I guess it is better I wasn't there because I know I would have been teary, and she doesn't need to see that. Now the big question is when will she be dropped off? We'll see. I may end up taking her or picking her up, depending. I can't wait to see her and hear how everything went! I love my little miss Paisley girl!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
