Paisley's preschool had a little Halloween parade with some singing and play time afterwards in her classroom. She loved getting dressed up again, always looking so pretty in her yellow Belle dress! She looked adorable climbing up on her bus with her backpack on! Sharon was so sweet to come over and drive with us, and Jon met up with us at her school. As soon as she saw us as she was parading, she burst into tears and would not go on. I guess it was just too much excitement to see her brothers, grandma and everyone! So I held her hand and walked with her.
She warmed up soon enough, and loved showing Grandma her classroom and where she hangs her backpack! Soooo sweet!
Look how grown up Zeke looks!
It was also fun to see the boys in their school parade a couple days later. Jon went over early during lunch time to help Adren with his makeup. (Eli could wear his to school) Jon actually took over all the makeup for the boys vampire look over the holidays, which they thought was great! He's real good at it!
I have to mention their costumes! Paisley kept saying she wanted to be Belle for Halloween. I thought I'd just fix up one of her existing dress up gowns because as long as she was princess-ey she'd be happy. She was with me as we ran into DI one evening, and right when we walked in there, hanging in front on the costume rack was this fluffy, yellow princess dress! It needed to be washed, and some more glitter and sparkle added, but how lucky is that? Just her size! It turned out great and will most likely be used next year as well. I made the boys black vampire capes complete with stiff collars that stood up around their necks. They wore their own Sunday gray pants and I found some black dresses at DI that I could cut up and turn into fancy vests for them. They turned out great, too. Zeke wore a Superman pajama shirt and his Sunday pants and shirt unbuttoned over that. I pinned his tie flung over his shoulder and some black rimmed glasses, and he was Clark Kent busting out. It was fun for me to make everyone's costumes this year.
Later that night we met up with the Gouldings and Whitmores and went on the Boo train. It is amazing! Daddy knows the guy who puts it on each year, so this is the second year we've gone. The kids love it, of course. Afterwards we crashed his ward Halloween dinner and felt real sheep-ish with 16 kids raiding the banquet table. We ate out in the foyer because we felt so dumb! Eli didn't, and went right up on stage for the costume parade as well as some other cousins. Good times!
Eliza really was more impressed than she looks!
It's almost our turn!
