The days leading up to Paisley's big day were full of anticipation. I loved how each day she'd ask me randomly and throughout the day if today was her birthday. She would have been just as happy if I'd said at 5pm, "As a matter of fact, today is your birthday!" We talked a lot about how she would start saying "four" when people ask how old she is, and she'd practice holding up for little fingers. "But not yet!" She'd say, in a serious tone.
I was so excited for her, and was planning on decorating with as much pink as I could round up, since all she see's is boy-boy-boy. Paisley is not one to dissapoint with her reactions. She even tears up and will pause to give you a hug when she's so excited. Precious!
As you can see, her eyes tell the whole story. I loved how the boys were just as excited and appreciated the frilly-ness of it all. Paisley liked being in charge and let them open a few.
I was set on finding a doll for her this year- a real doll with hair and clothes and shoes. One a little older than the babies. Her reaction was just as I had hoped. We've named her babies in the past, and for this one she was adamant the name is "Birthday Doll". Isn't that beautiful?
It was a school day, and I am so glad she is loving school so much this year and her great teacher, and riding the bus, so it was even more exciting to get ready for school. She got a darling birthday outfit and I had some treats ready for her to take to her class, which just made everything more wonderful and exciting. I got her a neclace that said, "It's my
Birthday!" Just in case there was anyone she came in contact at school that wasn't aware. She still wears it.
I was chuckling to myself because I'd say, "smile!" and she wouldn't. She'd hold this pose all serious looking at me but slightly shaking her head "no". I realized a little surprised that she was trying to "pose".
Could she be more adorable???
The Birthday Cake!
That evening we went to Chuck E Cheese just to blow our minds a little further. Paul and Sharon were sweet to meet up with us for some dinner and more gifts and cutting the cake.
Paisley was very bothered by the awkwardly moving, furry band. Don't blame her.
Happy Birthday, sweet little Paisley girl!
