The morning of the first day of school, everything was running like clockwork, starting with a dead camera battery. This is tradition, so it didn't make me miss a beat.
It was a little rough waking up early after a full day at Lagoon the day before, but the excitement of the morning kicked in soon enough. We got to school early so we could have time to meet teachers, find the boys desks and cubby's and sneak some pictures.
Eli's first grade teacher, "Mr. L" (for LeChemenaunt) is great. He reminds me of Eli's uncle Cameron. He kept joking around with a bewildered Eli, all the jokes getting lost somewhere in those wondering eyes. (Just like uncle Cameron's jokes with Eli.) I had to keep sneaking back and peeking in on him. So cute! Seriously, I couldn't leave that school building!
Adren has Mrs. Arney for 3rd grade. I had heard she was the coveted teacher, getting lots of requests. I decided to let the chips fall where they may, because I have been happy with the teachers so far, Adren adapts well and is doing good in school. I can see why everyone loves her. She is so very kind, thorough, and has really been the perfect fit for Adren this year. I was a little concerned none of his favorite friends are with him~ in fact, they are all separated, which could have very well been on purpose. But like I said, he adapts well and has made fast friends and loves 3rd grade.
These boys get up each morning and manage to shower, dress and eat while wrestling, jumping all over their room and going bonkers. It's not my favorite.
Check out Zeke hanging on for dear life. All of my kids have gotten hurt on this thing when we've visited the playground. It's now going on two years since this was put in, I really don't think it will last too long. I noticed this year it has been lowered a bit. I don't want to be the reason it's removed...
