Zeke makes sure he brings his little "monkey pack-pack" with him each Sunday. He'll grab it and run upstairs to stuff little treasures inside before we go. He was sitting next to me in sacrament meeting, squirming around, being his busy little self. I glanced down at him and did a double take~ He was sitting there, arms folded, wearing his Spider Man mask! I scooped him up into my lap and whispered in his ear how when we are at church we think of our Savior~ not Spider Man. Besides- the sacrament was coming, and how could he take it wearing that mask? He slowly pulled it off. It did make an appearance one more time- much to the delight of the little girl sitting in front of us.
It reminded me of a couple of months ago when he stashed his Super Man cape in this same little "pack-pack". He pulled out a corner to show me before the meeting started and said, with his little hand up, "Don't worry, mom! I am NOT going to wear it!" Well, soon enough he was wearing it, with his arms stretched out in front of him, smiling and saying in a little wisper, "I'm flying reverent."
You'd think by now we'd check the contents in that little monkey pack before we left for church. As we are dashing out the door, it never even crosses my mind.
