Here's his "Monkey Birthday Cake". He loved it, and still talks about his monkey birthday cake.
He's watched about 100+ episodes of "Wonder Pets" I put it on for him right after breakfast, as per his request. He sings the song, which is adorable. He calls his doggy pillow pet his "Doggy Wonder Pet". Adorable. I found these Wonder Pet's- sort of a last minute thing- at the grocery store, of all places and just had to snatch them up. They were the highlight of his day! Isn't that just how things work out?
He talked about his monkey cake all day, and was so excited when it came
time to light it and eat! Zeke likes to sing the Birthday song
year-round, complete with the blowing of candles, and always ends with
clapping and "Yay!"'s. So of course, we had to sing to him half a dozen
times, including the candle blowing over and over. He loved it.
This was a real crazy day, with Paisley off to dance class, the boys had a soccer game, then Adren needed to get straight to Pack Meeting to receive his Bobcat award! At one point I had in the van Paisley and her two little friends, Eli and Zeke, rushing to drop off the girls and make it in time to the church. I made a desperate stop at home to run in and use the bathroom and told everyone to stay put. I was inside for 30 seconds, then off to drop off girl #1. I was chatting with her mom, my friend, and mentioned it was Zeke's birthday and we needed to go. She came out to the car to wish him a happy day, and he wasn't there. We searched all over her yard and house, calling- no Zeke. I ran back home to find him wandering the yard, crying, "Mommy, you left me!" -And on his Birthday! Eli was sitting by the door and hadn't even noticed him climbing out- Hello?
It was a good day, and he loved all the love and attention. He sure fits in nicely in our family. If you ask him his name, he'll proudly respond: "I'm Zekey Geertsen!"
