Abby let me know Grayson's big Disney production at school was happening. Apparently, school work is set aside in 3rd grade so the kids can get this down and ready. I knew Grayson would think it was neat if we came to see him, and I knew my kids would love to see him~ and I knew they would know most of the songs and probably really enjoy it. The only performance we could make was during school. I didn't tell my boys we were going, just had them get up and get ready for school like normal. I made breakfast, packed a lunch, all while the boys were wrestling and running around~ completely unaware that school had started about an hour ago. Finally Eli asked if we were late because the sun looked different. I filled them in on our day. They were very excited! I got a lot of "Your the best mom, ever!"s. I have never done anything like this before.
It was great to see Grayson. He told us how he really hated wearing the snake costume. -Oh, really? Not the big bunny costume? In fact it was his final costume, and I noticed he bolted right after and came out not wearing it.
He mentioned this again to me a couple weeks later when I saw him. He just really hated that snake costume. He felt real stupid in it.
We ended up checking Grayson out of school, and lunching at the Bocanegra's. Of course Abby and I get chatting and I had to bag checking my kids in later. We left late enough to take Grayson back for his final performance and drop him off. The boys had been riding bikes somewhere and were covered head to toe in mud. Faces and everything. Oh, well. It was a fun day!
