Thanksgiving in Hurricane

It was kind of nice to have plenty of time to get out the door the day before Thanksgiving. Jon had to work so I was able to help pack the kids~ something that drove me crazy on the Park City getaway was the lack of underwear, pajamas, tooth brushes and socks packed. Hello??? I guess I do still need to be more involved than I'd like...
Anyway, we pulled away from a clean house, and a non-frazzled mom, so that was just great!
We arrived to a full house, which was a lot of fun! The Porter's had arrived a few hours earlier, Grandma and Grandpa had come down the day before, and Mike and Mandy arrived shortly after, so there was much excitement! We were able to hang out and relax and chat. We don't get to see this side of the family too often, so it is extra special for the kids to be with these cousins. They just jump right in and have a great time together. Adren and Eli so enjoy Will and Brendan especially, and Maia is always so sweet with Paisley. I always enjoy getting the scoop on Ben's life and his plans for college next year. The weather was great, so they all played outside for a while into the evening.

Paul and Heather and Heather's mom Laurie arrived the next day. I really enjoy Heather's mom, she's so great to chat with and has a fun sense of humor. It was great to all help in the kitchen and table set up. That dinner tasted soooo good! We sure are blessed to have so much. All that is important in life we have!
We all went and saw a movie that night~ ya have to on Thanksgiving, right? The next morning while Jon gathered the boys for a hike, us girls headed over to the Expo where Heather and Laurie had a booth. It wasn't too crowded, and it was fun to browse with Christine, Maia, Sharon and Paisley. I went to buy something and realized I didn't have my card with me! That gives you a pit in your stomach like no other! I texted Jon to see if he'd taken my card out, of course not. I started thinking of the quick stop to the grocery store the night before and started trying to look up that number. Right then Christine found me and had my card. I'd failed to remember in my panic I had just bought Paisley a soft pretzel not 10 min. before and left it on the counter! Duh! I'm losing my mind!

Ha! I have to chuckle at all my random pictures~ The kids took all of these, along with a ton of video. I don't think I pulled my phone out once, so I'm glad they captured the trip!
We arrived back at the house to learn Zeke and Grandpa were the only two left at the house. Zeke thought it a real treat to play a little wii with just Grandpa, and then go out with him on some errands in the convertible with the top down. Zeke tried to talk Grandpa into buying another wii game because he'd played everything at the house.

We slowly got on the road later that day and headed home. It was a great Thanksgiving, and so fun to have the house in Hurricane to steal away to!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
