Our dear little Paisley Elaine

There is no way our Paisley is turning seventeen. I'm going to need a minute to wrap my brain around that.
I got up early to set up - which is now the thing. The Birthday fairy can only stay up so late.

Paisley needed to head off to school so left her gifts behind for later.

I made a fabulous chocolate cake - like - wow.
And some yummy after school snacks.
She opened her gifts when Jon got home. Then we took the family to our favorite restaurant- Sushi Up! What a fun group to celebrate with!

After a fun dinner we headed home and sang to our favorite girl and cut the cake!

Is it really your 17th birthday if your older brother isn't pummeling you with your balloon while getting sung to?

She will have friends over for treats and a movie night this weekend. (One of her favorite things to do with friends).

Paisley is just the best! I love her soooo much. She and I often just sit and chat and I tell her stories of my high school experiences, or family, and I especially love to hear how her friends are doing and what is going on in her life. She thinks through things and feels deeply. She is thoughtful in everything she does. She takes things seriously and showing up and being responsible is important to her. She is so creative and I love watching her add to her room and make it her own. I still hear her hammering away and sometimes I have to go in there and just stare and take it all in. She really has put her heart into it, she has wished for this for so long. I am thrilled for her that she finally has her own space. Paisley is strong and bold and speaks her mind. I really admire that about her, I don't think I have her courage yet. I am sure loving watching her grow into a really fabulous young woman, even if it is hard for me to believe she is already at seventeen years! I love you soooo much, Paisley!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
