Carefree summer days are coming to an end. I was out working in the yard one morning and texted this pic to the kids to say that the weather was lovely and mild, a perfect time to come out and help.

But Eli didn't see my text because he was doing this...

Eli really is helpful and a big sweetheart. He is following his big brothers footsteps after graduation: staying up late, sleeping late and gaming. Fun.

I'm loving getting pictures and updates from the Woods, some kind people in Adren's branch. They have him and Elder Konold over every Monday for a big homemade meal, and they usually send them home with food. I get texts early in the day from her, sometimes with what the menu is for the night and then a recap of what Adren taught and how much they enjoy having them. It is such a kind thing to do for a mother across the country!

Adren sure has enjoyed Elder Konold. He says he knows they will be lifelong friends. I'm so happy he has had such a great experience right away!
I am checking President Gentries Instagram regularly to see if I can catch a glimpse of Elder Geertsen.
And it is always a special treat when I do!
Back at home, some candid Sunday pics. Sweet little Adeline walks over to sit with me sometimes during sacrament. She  looks at my rings and bracelets for a bit, then makes her way back to her mom.

The Geertsen's all together!
I never knew such joy as getting these mission pics! My heart!

And how cute is Zekey after doing some baptisms!

A very big day arrived for Paisley, she finally got her drivers license! She worked so hard for it, I know it was such a relief for her to be done with all of that, and finally have it done! Phew!

I am relieved to be at this place, for sure! I am documenting because if I don't take pics of myself, no one will ever see any.

There goes our Paisley girl. Driving away with her official license! Soooo exciting!

The first day of school arrived and it is a big year for these two! Paisley is starting her Junior Year! Whaaat??? I cannot wrap my brain around that. And Zeke is now a Freshman at the high school with her. I can't believe we are down to just one school, two kiddos. Amazing.
Zeke is very excited to be out of middle school and meet up with friends he hasn't seen all summer, as well as friends he didn't get to see last year. I'm thrilled he is so excited for High School!
Paisley is hopefully better prepared than her brothers starting Junior year. They have warned her it is a heavy year, so stay on top of everything and Senior Year will be smooth sailing. She'll do great!

Paisley is getting her backpack all cleaned out and organized. This is how I know she'll do great!

And off they go to the school! We are all so grateful for the red car, it has been great in getting the kids to school and jobs.

And Paisley has been asked to her first dance, Homecoming! First date! Sooo exciting!

Adren is enjoying his new companion~ and plenty of leftovers, of course!

My sweet ministering sister, Pauline brought me these gorgeous sunflowers ~ WOW!

Paisley's room is coming along so beautifully. We got her pendant lights hung and I rigged them so that she can turn them on and off from her shelves by her bed. It is so glowy and warm in there!

I love that Zeke loves it, too!

Paisley and I went out to look at dresses for Homecoming, just to see what is out there. Turns out, there is quite a bit! Paisley looked so darling in everything.

We fell in love with this chocolate brown silk dress.

Then we thought we'd look at the shoes to see what would look good with it. Provo High's Homecoming theme is Disco, so we thought it would be fun to find some fabulous gold disco heels.

And then we found them!
We couldn't believe we found everything the first time we went out looking. Paisley will look darling.

Her date, Milan, asked her with a Curious George song and stuffed animal. So Paisley answered back referring to the banana pancake song and a pile of pancakes. It was very clever!

In my big news, I just celebrated one year at A Child's Hope Foundation. It's going great! I finally feel like I know what I am doing and (somewhat) what everyone else is doing so I can finally work on improving systems and grow where I am at!

Some Monday calls it's just a few (or couple) of us that are available. I love to see Adren strumming away on his guitar that Grandpa sent him. He is so happy!

And finally, I am loving these new lights in the hallway. It makes everything feel fresh and lovely.

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
