At the beginning of summer Jon took a shovel to a section of grass near the sidewalk that turns brown no matter the watering, lack of watering, potions etc. he puts on it. He has decided to just remove it and fill it in with bushes. Less mowing, less maintenance. So now we must hunt for bushes. Jon's dream front yard would be NO grass (he's all done mowing and edging) and full of big trees that cover the house so that it is hard to find the door. I tease him that it is so he will be more secluded and not bothered. He say's I'm right.
After bush hunting we dined and went to a movie. It's our thing.
On the way out the door I snapped a pic of this cute view I enjoy daily.
I thought these treats on the counter were from Jonny. I thanked him, we had talked about not worrying about gifts. He said they weren't from him, he thought I had put them there.
They were from darling Paisley...
I love seeing Adren's missionary plaque on the wall outside the bishops door. What a handsome sweetie.
Diana and I helped decorate for Homecoming. I was tasked with the outside doors and hanging records from the ceiling for the "Disco" theme. I feel like I always go the home-made, wacky route. It was fine.
I decided to paint disco silhouettes on the doors. It turned out festive and cute enough.
Paisley looked so pretty! And Milan so handsome.
But seriously, how darling is this girl?
Diana texted me a pic of how it looked at night with her Disco lights. Cool! Paisley was in a fun group and had a great time.
More Adren sightings on the Gentry's instagram! Squeal!
Reminiscing how quickly time goes...
Fall is in the air and I am loving it!
Adren is staying upstairs in an Air BnB. It is a tiny apartment with a little workout room in the upstairs attic. With his birthday coming, I wanted to make sure I have the correct address. I sent him this while we chatted and he confirmed that is indeed his house.
Paisley got to tell him all about Homecoming.
I have started gathering items to send Adren for his birthday. It is so wonderful having a missionary- and so emotional! There is nowhere else I would rather have him be. I am so happy he is there, and I don't want him home. I am just emotional that my Adren is gone and on a mission and I can't believe it. And he is almost twenty, soon to no longer be a teenager, and I will not hug him or see him in person for his entire 20th year of life. Sometimes I feel like it is crazy that mothers over time have allowed this and how has there not been an uprising in the streets to put an end to this? And then in the next breath I am so grateful that he gets to experience this, it seems my heart will burst with joy. This is a wild ride!
I took Zekey to DI. He found two monsterous pairs of jeans. His request was that I combine them to make one monsterous pair of jeans. I. did. it.
His friends gathered around him at school with questions. Soon enough two more monsterous thrifted jeans were handed to me from his friend. I did it again! Zeke actually brings home jeans from friends quite regularly that need to be mended or hemmed. I am tickled by it. Zeke with his long curls and yards of denim flapping around his legs brings me such joy. What a cutie!
