This year there were spooky floating witch hats haunting the mantle.
Somehow every Halloween the kids pick a new thing they want to be instead of using the plethora of costumes we already have packed away from years past. And every year I oblige. It is fun putting costumes together, some years I have more energy and time than others. Nonetheless, everyone was real happy with what they chose.
Adren! This is the first year he chose something funny. It's a little late to join the Napoleon party I realize, but he and Pedro came up with it, and I thought they were cute.
He's got the pose down!
Sweet Paisley wanted to be a fancy kitty. She wanted to wear everything she wore last year, so it all worked well.
We carved pumpkins in the middle of the costume prepping. A must.
Jon and I went to the Halloween parade~ Adren's last!
We split up to help kids get in costume. Once Paisley and I walked near the girls bathroom to change I could see the line and knew we'd be late to the parade. We ducked into the darkened empty library and Paisley just could not believe she was changing in there! We were quick-quick!
Isn't she just the cutest fancy cat you ever did see?
Jon helped with Eli's scarecrow makeup. I'd made a mask, but he couldn't wear it to school.
Ok, This scarecrow mask sort of got away from me! I had some burlap on-hand and started sewing one day while he was at school. At one point I tried it on in the mirror to see where to put the eye holes. Freaky! It really turned out way freakier than I- or Eli had planned! But he loved it.
He put it on and ran outside. I watched the little boy across the street get a look at him, drop his truck and run screaming for dear life back inside. Wouldn't you?
Zeke as a sweet Grim Reaper. Now you know those exist.
Pedro and Napoleon!
Pedro is small, but I don't think he's this small! Must be the angle or something.
On to the evening festivities! We had the Whitmores over for dinner, of course. Then off to Trick-or-Treating!
Jon always gets in costume before taking the kids out...
The haul!
