Every summer we get a real fantastic downpour that floods the area in front of our house up to our lawn. Jon and I were at a movie one summer evening, and could hear the rain pouring outside the theater. When we got home it was dark and I was puzzled the next day from all the debris on our front lawn. The summer downpour! I'd missed it! A week later it came again~ and this was a doozy! It may have topped the downpours of all downpours!
It was a real cozy evening. I have to say- I have never seen a storm like that! The sky was just amazing. The big grey clouds started moving so quickly- it looked like smoke wafting through the sky and got so dark. I now know what it looks like when the sky "boils". Just amazing~
Like I said, we get a lake in front of our house that always draws a crowd. Some dear friends stopped by. My friend Kelly wanted me to get a last shot of her oldest boy, Miles before he was to leave to the MTC in just a day or two. The funny thing is, I have a photo of him at eight years old, doing the exact same thing after another storm in front of our house.
