Paisley's Senior Prom

Diana asked if I would help her decorate for prom. We went to lunch and she showed me the plan and theme, "Garden SoirĂ©e" or something like that. She had gathered all kinds of things in her Amazon cart, so all I had to do was nod and say, "Sounds grrrrreat!"
A group of moms gathered at the Provo Library the morning of Prom. Diana had bin after bin of decor we brought up to the ballroom. Then it was time to decorate! Everyone just zoned in on a section and did their thing.
Thankfully, several husbands arrived to help so I didn't have to string wire way up on the ladders. I felt like I had just decorated this space for our work dinner! As everyone hustled around, I tried to picture Mommy and Daddy doing this for my Sr. Prom. I just can't see it! Of course, everything turned out lovely.
The principle popped in and said all the tickets sold out, so she opened up some more. With more kids attending, we needed to go up and decorate the loft. I tell ya what- it was an all day affair!

Paisley had chosen to go with a group of friends, a bit at the last minute. This caused some trouble with her guy- but it seems it usually does. (sigh) She showed me a pic of a dress she found at the mall, which was sooo expensive. I knew she was panic-buying and really didn't want to go in on something she would only be wearing for a few hours and not even her top choice. She said the girls she was going with were always so fancy, so she didn't want any old thing. I hopped on Amazon Friday morning. (the day before!) I found this cute green slip dress, for so cheap! She loved it, so I ordered two sizes. They were delivered that evening! Whoah! She looked darling in it- perfect! She chose to wear her gold heels, which all looked so pretty. I suggested she pull her hair, bangs and all half up for a different look. She packed up all of her stuff to go get ready with everyone. (She said that is the trouble with going with boys, they never give you enough time to get ready, and they wanted hours.)
I was thrilled when she called me a while later and said they were all in a nearby park getting pictures taken and would I like to join? Yes!

She and Dresden just glowed!

It was a fun group. They all went off to dinner and then on to the dance. I'm glad she had a great time!

It's strange to think this is the last of the school dances on the daughter side of things!
