He Lives!

I've loved this painting ever since Mommy pointed it out to me.

The Sunday before Easter I made the paper boxes for all of my Primary kids. Inside I tucked a piece of white cloth. On the lid I wrote, "He Lives!"

I am grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ. He has made all the difference for me in my life.

Easter Sunday was a bit low-key for us. I gathered some little treats for the kids. I even gathered some for Jonny.

Here is how life looks for us currently. I dust surfaces on a regular basis. If I don't mop all the corners and under tables you can tell! There always seems to be a fine layer of dust over everything. There is a view of scaffolding out the front window. I asked for all of this.

I got a new rug for the front room, which is lovely. I hesitated putting it out due to the dust, but didn't want it getting creases. I laid it down on top of 3 other rugs! That's right, I just keep layering them because I still want them and need to use them for a different space, which is why I got this one and this is the perfect way to store them! Got it?

More scaffolding has arrived! Brandon and his brother will be building our beams! How very exciting!
I needed to paint the entry hallway due to the new drywall and patchwork. May as well try a new color! I saw a room painted a similar color that stopped me in my tracks and thought my black doors would really shine next to it. I also thought it'd be fun to go dark since my front room is now so light. It is called cognac, and is the most gorgeous warm golden brown. Lovin' it!

We still need to add/ blend in the flooring under the stairs, figure out the crawl space opening in the floor, frame out the opening, add baseboards, caulk everything, paint everything, and address the walls under the stairs. It will also need a light fixture, storage and hooks. For some reason, this tiny area feels like so much work. Like if this was the only project we had going on, it feels like too much!

Someone posted this pic of the Powder Puff girls in my PTA chat. I grabbed it to give to P because her best friend Dresden is in it. I was glad I did because she didn't have any pics of the night!

The beams are looking amazing! Eeeeeee!

And so is the cognac.

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
