Miners 2024!

Here we are again! It feels like such a joyous occasion as we all arrive at this familiar gathering. Jon gets tents set up while Matt and Abby get dinner going. All the little kids run around while the older kids chat and set up card games. It's the best!

We did the hike up to the boulders the first night.

Baby Baker celebrated his first year of life this day!

The next morning I put together my breakfast burritos. I had pre-made most of them, so they were easy to assemble. Then we loaded up coolers with lunch and drinks and headed to the lake. We spent the day paddling out in the water and napping in the shade until everyone had their fill.

That evening, we took a group to see "Twisters" in town. It was more entertaining than I though it would be!

Afterwards we went back to the campsite. Even though we had already had dinner, the kids were snack-ish. We made a bunch of cheese enchiladas for everyone and they hit the spot!

We took the kids into town to check out some shops. We were too big a group to go into these little boutiques, and they really had no interest. I bought a bouquet of suckers and we settled on some shaded grass under big trees and waited for the Goulding's to pull into town. It was so fun to hear about their trip and see Landrie! They joined us for dinner . We stayed up chatting most nights until I was too sleepy to stay in my chair.
The last day, after packing up and loading and cleaning, everyone lingered a little. We just can't believe another year of Miner's is in the books! I sure love seeing all of these cousins together.

Ha-ha! Zeke in his all black. And Solly! So many personalities shining through.

See ya another time, Miner's!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
