What a great day to celebrate our great dad! We showered him with his most favorite treats and all the love. We sure are grateful for all he does for our family, and for all the funny quirks that make us smile and endeared to him. He's the best!

We got to visit Grandpa Geertsen and then have a family dinner up at Cash's and spend the day with family. The best kind of day!
And of course, getting a call from Adren and getting to all chat together is one of the highlights of the week!

Of course, I am never not working on office projects. My latest is framing these cute prints that were painted by some friends in Haiti. I thought they were too cute to keep in our closet. I also added a rug from home because it seemed like it there was always water drips under the sink area. I bought a cute bamboo dish drying rack, I brought a cute basket from home to put on top of the fridge for paper towels as well as some other accessories for the table and snacks.

I also wanted to blow up some big cheerful prints from our service trips to put around our main big workspace, but framing them would break our budget. Kassidy and I chose which photos we wanted blown up and printed. I bought some trim at Home Depot and built frames myself, which turned out to be quite the project. Turns out DIY isn't for everyone. I didn't know that. But, if you don't look too close, they are good enough. Or, if you do look close, you will see a "rustic" frame, which sort of works well, considering the theme.

This is about when I started feeling a bit over my head...

Working in my 100 degree garage didn't help. Sawing, stapling and praying they would make the trip from my house to the walls of the office without falling apart, the finished project made me glad it was over and that I saved hundreds in framing!

It turned out cute! And now when people come into our office, they comment on these fun prints of the kids we serve.

As us stake leaders meet with the Stake Youth Committee, they keep bringing up Stake Trek. None of them have gone. And they want to go. We have had many meetings and discussions, the Stake President is also very on board. It seems my presidency, the Stake Young Men's Presidency and the High Council men that work with us are the only ones that need to catch up.  Ha! As I was out running errands, I came across this sign and had to text it to our Leader group text saying, "Hey, look! At least we can all get counseling!" It sort of feels like a runaway train we have no control over.

I now get to drop Paisley darling off to FSY! She is rooming with Josie darling and they are going to have a great week!

I love the quiet moments in this summer house when the warm sun light hits and there is a warm feeling of this moment in time when the house looks like this and the kids are at this age and our family is here and I want to capture it because it wont be like this forever. (Especially because I am likely to change things so often.)

I found these cutie-pie prints at the Bazaar with my CRU and I thought this was the perfect spot to display them.
Elder Geertsen! We love you!

The Geertsen Fourth of July house, Summer of 2024:

A really great thing about the Fourth of July is that we get to celebrate Grandma Geertsen's Birthday! We all met together for breakfast, Grandpa cooked, and it was great to be together.

I sure love Grandma Sharon, she is the best!
We all love her so!

And Happy Fourth of July!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
