I had my dear CRU over for my birthday party. It happened to be the same evening that Sookie had just passed away, so I was a little rattled and knew Paisley was upstairs mourning... (with Sookie!!!) We had a good time chatting together and Mary had arranged a surprise package to be delivered, a bag full of gifts from everyone. So very sweet. 48!
The very next day was Thanksgiving over at Paul and Sharon's. I got my rolls rising and we all went out to a movie. I don't even remember the movie, only that it was sub-par.
But dinner was so great to all be together on the Geertsen side! It is alway great to see everyone and get an update on all the cousins lives. It isn't often that I get to see everyone, so Geertsen gatherings are a treat.
The drive felt quick and Sadie's home was so beautiful, warm and welcoming! The four of us: Jon, Me, Eli & Zeke checked into our hotel and met up with the Goulding's and Cash for a Mexican dinner, then on to the Elko basketball game to watch Scarly-boo play in the band. It was so great to see Aliva and all the cousins together. A real home-town celebration. I live for these times to have some fun all together.
We ended up all going back to the Goulding's and chatting until the wee hours. Sadie and I loved Ashley's new bangs and soon enough we were facetiming Leslea, Ashley's mom while she talked us through cutting bangs on ourselves. (Like every time I've cut bangs, I would regret this.)
It was fun to meet Tate and hear from Alivia how they met on their missions, and see them so giddy with each other.
The next day we took the kids to the Pioneer Museum. Eli and Zeke barely remembered this place, even though they have been before when they were all littles.
