What's cuter than Paisley taking a picture of her little brother who is taking a picture of their loving parents?
It was a fun night, and we were glad to have them with us. While Jon and I were in line at R&R BBQ, we noticed the manager of the place talking to Zeke over at our table. Then we saw him taking a picture of him. He came over to us and said Zeke was wearing the exact outfit he was wearing himself when he met his wife and he had to text her a picture. Zeke was wearing his Jnco Jeans (they almost look like a long, full denim skirt- very late 90's) and Jon's old NИ t-shirt. He loved it so much, he gave us a free dessert!
Speaking of cute, I ran over to hopefully catch the tail-end of the big boys getting haircuts at Craigs Cuts in Provo so I could pay. I missed them, but caught them at the light. I don't think I've ever seen anything more adorable: My two baby boys with fresh haircuts chomping on their free suckers, like they've earned at the end of a haircut their whole lives. And they took care of the bill and the tip themselves. What cuties.
Night out with the CRU:
This night was highly anticipated, mainly because Mary planned it, and said it was a secret. All she said was plan on going out to dinner and wear shoes that are easy to take off and put on.
It was such an inspiring night! First stop was this old hall that a man lived in and raised his family upstairs and set up an organ shop downstairs. He has built many organs over his career- but only about one a year. It takes that long to build! The one he was currently working on was massive and would be shipped in sections, then he goes to the location and finishes it and installs it. He has a small crew, including one young man who is studying organ building. (Is he the last one to learn this??? Do you know anyone that would like to carry on this craft?)
The church was so gorgeous, the grounds so pretty!
He told us the history of the hall, how it used to be place for grand dances and gatherings, political gatherings and banquets. Can you imagine?
All of his tools were so old and organized.
This wood was so beautiful!
Then he gave us a tour of the upstairs apartment that he raised his family in. He and his wife had just moved out to a smaller place without stairs.
He told us how his boys would ride bikes and rollerskate the grounds, and it was a wonderful place to raise a family.
We went on to have a delicious Indian dinner at a nearby restaurant, then toured three different houses. These are houses that Mary has driven by and thought they were so charming and was curious if they'd give our CRU a tour one night? She just knocked on their doors! She was surprised at how willing and excited the people were to accommodate us! These people were so random, and so kind! They took us in, gave us refreshments and peaches from their trees- and cut warm bread for us, and gave us tickets to a free night of ballet! Can you believe that? Their homes were charming indeed. The first couple were patriarchs in their stake, had remodeled their home over the years, and were so proud to show us all the hard work they had done. It was beautiful! Their backyard was especially amazing. They had created this beautiful oasis, even though they were wedged in-between other houses, it felt so peaceful and cozy and such a great testament that you can create what you want wherever you are. Another house was familiar as soon as we pulled up and as I was walking through the rooms, I knew I had seen it before. It was on a HG tv show decorated by Andy and Candice. The colors were so bold and saturated. It was so pretty!
But the last house took the cake! It was the nicest couple who had spent their lives working on and adding on to their beautiful old home. It was magazine worthy, decorated so gorgeous. They were so warm and so busy in their community. The woman has spent her life teaching ballet and working in the performing arts in Provo, many of her kids have been involved as well. She gifted us ballet tickets and talked with us about how precious close friendships like ours is, and to continue being there for each other and making memories together, because that is what this earth life is all about. They just exuded love and generosity, and I left that night wanting to be more like all of those random people we met. Isn't Mary the best to set that up for us?
One evening I dropped Paisley to work and as I drove by Chipotle, I thought about how Adren should be getting off right about then as well. Soon enough I spotted him driving home behind me and my heart swelled with joy. I just love that boy!
Eli asked a cute gal Enya to Home Coming. I am so glad he has a fun friend group and has a good time. I know he's been a little sad about not dating is old gal anymore, but I know he's still making fun High School memories. I just love that boy!
| I just love all my boys! |
| Eli and friend Hue are headed off to the big PHS HOCO game. Eli from PHS, Hue from Timpview High, the two big rivals. |
Eli joking around that he's getting his outfit together for school tomorrow.
Funny guy.
Life sure is sweet!
