Halloweeeen!!!

Tis the season of spooky! My CRU started texting creepy things we saw as we were out and about. I had to snap a pic of this house in Springville after dropping Zeke to a friends.

I opt for a cheery spooky!

I took Adren in for his pre-mission check-up. As I walked behind him, I thought of the many times I have brought him to this pediatricians office. Lugging him in his car seat and stroller. All the check-ups and shots, worry when he had AFM etc. I wondered if this is one of the last times me and Adren go to the pediatricians office? He turned right when I snapped a sneaky pic.
I told my Stake President I would rather have an intimidate training dinner instead of the big stake general training with everyone we usually do. I'm grateful he could see the value in spending an evening with the presidents, discussing specific topics that are near and dear to them, and getting input from the other presidents. The evening turned out so nice. All nine presidents were able to attend and we had a wonderful discussion. I had the dinner catered and it was so delicious. I am so grateful for my wonderful presidency that were totally onboard and so helpful on this night.

Another event I was a part of was the big Give Hope Gala at ACHF. It was being held at the Goddard's residence- it's just what we called it. The Goddard's have a massive house and built it so that they could host such things. They are donors and are real nice people! This Gala is to thank all of the many donors and it is fancy-pants. My dear friend Diana (who is also a donor) volunteered to do the flowers for the event. I volunteered to help her, because it is a massive job! One of my girls, Madelyn was in charge of the night, so it was great to help her as well. We went up one day to check out the place and talk table placement, where the caterers will set up, where people will enter and where the entertainment will be etc. The next time was the day before, so we had to pick up the floral order, (go to lunch) then head up to work. We spent a solid 8 hours putting together arrangements! It was fun to work together and learn from her expertise!

The setup crew!

I had a stake meeting scheduled that night that I probably could have gotten out of to attend the Gala, but I really didn't want to. I heard it was fabulous though!
The boys looked so cute testing out different makeup looks for their costumes.

Mommy and Daddy sent me this to wish me a Happy Halloween. So cute!
I helped Eli with his vampire makeup for his dance.

On Halloween day we had an office meeting so we decided to all wear costumes. Erin made a darling spooky charcuterie to share, we all brought treats.
Meredith and daughter Janessa dressed up as Loreli and Rory and I thought they were so clever!
(Some) of our ACHF crew!
And Maelle and I as the two kitties.
I spotted this creepy scene in our neighborhood on my way home!
Then I helped Eli straighten his hair. It was fun to see it look so different.

Then I spiked it!

Soooooo adorbs.
This picture made me chuckle. I texted it to my sisters. "Just hangin' out."
The kids are in full costume, ready to go out...

I thought Paisley's makeup was so festive and amazing!

We didn't have as many trick-or-treaters as in years past, but still a steady stream. It was nice to just chill at home with movies and dinner.
Happy Halloween!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
