Cash hosted a family dinner and it was fun to celebrate little Cal. I thought this shot of him next to Ashley was the sweetest thing.
After dropping off Eli a little late to school I was delighted to find Adren in the parking lot (hopefully coming, not going?) with his pals Drew and Carter. These have been good friends for him.
I told them they were dressed so coordinated, it begged for a photo.
Now that Pedro moved away from just down the street, it is rare we see him. It is always great when he pops over after school. He's a real sweet kid. And now they are coordinated!
When he gave his two-week notice at Papa Murphy's his boss tried hard to keep him. He couldn't match the pay, but offered close and asked him to consider tips. Overall Adren's paychecks will be significantly bigger from Chipotle, so he decided to move on. He has promised he will work a Halloween shift to help him out. His boss told him very nice things, which as a mom is so good to hear. As a once hiring manager, it is important to me teach my kids specifically to be reliable employees that will be fought for. I am so happy that Adren has the experience of being a valued employee, it is a great place to start that can pay off in so many areas in life.
Eli was asked by friend Chloe to the Halloween dance!

I love that Jon took all the kids to an outdoor concert to a band they all enjoy, Purity Ring. It was Eli, Paisley and Zeke's very first concert. I told Jon he has to appreciate that memory they will always have with their dad. Everyone remembers their first concert!

| He's soooo cuuuute! |
After a week or so I asked what his plans were to answer her. I told him that girls don't love waiting for these sort of things and I'd help him to get on it. We went to Walmart together to find something. I tell you what- I was on fire, suggesting all sorts of clever things. He liked the cake idea. It's quite funny, if I do say so myself.
It was a hit, indeed. Then Adren was asked by friend Sammy:
Sadly, it wouldn't work out for these two to go together and is best if they take some time apart for a bit. This makes me sad, to be honest. Things could be so different, and it is hard for me to watch. Sigh. Growing up is hard.I guess it can't all be sweet all the time. If I have learned anything in life it is that in the not-so-sweet times is where we stretch and grow and learn. I am learning all the time. One thing I have re-learned recently is that my Savior is in all those details of learning. Always.
