Back To School 2021!

Here we are, Back to School. I can hardly believe it!

But first, a relaxed, cutie-pie Adren just strumming his guitar, telling me more about his HEFY adventures and plans and thoughts. I love him.

Eli is starting his JUNIOR year at Provo High School.

Adren is starting his SENOR year at Provo High School.

Paisley is starting her FRESHMAN year at Provo High School.

Then they all drove away in the kid car together...

Now Zeke is starting SEVENTH grade at Dixon Middle School.

This is a significant year for the Geertsen kids. New schools for Paisley and Zeke. No more Lakeview Elementary. All kids get up and out the door and take the bus on their own. I don't even need to get out of bed anymore! I just holler that I love them and to have a great day!

Adren attended his first Senior activity. The Senior Sunrise. You can't see Adren, but I know he's there, wrapped in a blanket surrounded by friends.

I love Zeke in his school clothes, making an after school snack.

We've just learned Lake Tahoe is on fire! This is the beautiful Emerald Bay we were just visiting. Praying for the best!

Grandpa Geertsen bakes zucchini bread for Eli because he loves it so. Everyone loves it, but Eli always gets his very own loaf. I saw him leave to a friends on his skateboard with his loaf in hand munching away. It's real sweet.

Something else real sweet is Paisley stepping in as my date for Jon and I's anniversary. He came home on our day with a migraine, poor guy. I took Paisley to dinner instead. We discovered a delightful sushi place right in Provo and had the best time. Jon and I were able to celebrate the next day, our favorite kind of date: Dinner and a Movie! Happy 22!

Another delightful thing that comes with September is these gorgeous black-eyed-susans that line the ditch along Geneva Road. I mentioned to Paisley and Jon while they were heading out on errands one day to stop and snip some if they felt so inclined. They inclined.

What a cheery September!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
