Summer Family Time!

Of course the countdown to the big Taylor Family Camp out at Miners was going strong the second summer started. This is the funnest thing to look forward to! I love that we stay at the same place so I know exactly what to pack, plan for and expect. It really makes it easy peasy.

The skits were so fun this year, there were hikes, Paisley taught an adorable cookie craft with a story, there was volley ball, a movie night and of course lots of talking and laughter. The kids discovered a special place and Cade helped them make a neat fort. It was so exciting and such a fun discovery they couldn't leave it alone and soon destroyed it, much to all of our annoyance. But those kids really stay busy and love every second. I'd say this is as much anticipated as Christmas!
And then.... Lagoon is next!

It's the only way to top off the fun! And really, nothing tops it!

The next item of summer fun was a visit up at Carol and Conways summer cabin. They are so nice to invite us up again. It was fun for me to go, since I missed out on the last one. The cabin is so great, very roomy, and those Geertsens made every meal for us! Too nice!
They sit right on a lake where we went out on kayaks and rafts. In the evening we walked down for some S'mores.

It was so relaxing. One of the days I took a two hour nap!

The fun part was hanging with everyone and catching up. When we were driving away, waving at Carol and Conway I felt like we'd been at a hotel. I really didn't lift a finger! It was so lovely.

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
