Christmas 2014!

Where's the snow? This has been a dry and warm December. I didn't mind too much this year, it was kind of nice!

The days leading up to Christmas were excitement filled! We strolled the mall and Adren wanted to try the bungee jumper. It took him a minute to get the hang of it but got really high and able to do some flips!

The big Tay/Sull/Zoll Christmas party was great fun. Dinner, white elephants, a cute talent show and a visit from Elsa and Ana!

Jon snapped this on his way home with the big boys in his car. I'm glad they got to see it!
Tree of Life
Christmas Eve finally arrived. All the little doors on the Advent were opened and all the little chocolates consumed. Jon and I decided for the first year to not drive out to see the lights we've been to every year for the past 10 years. The kids didn't even seem to mind! We had the Whitmore's over, Cade and Ashley and family, and both Geertsen and Taylor grandparents. We had a delicious dinner of the usual ham, potato casserole, sweet potato's, salad, rolls etc. For dessert~ sugar cookies for the kids to ice for Santa! Jon did the usual tracking Santa's where-a-bouts online. The kids kept wanting to check to see where he was at. We read Luke 2 together and acted out the story with all of the kids. It was a full house! Eliza, Ashley and I marveled how here we were already at another Christmas Eve! Amazing! Ashley brought a pinata we strung up in the garage~

Can't you just hear the squeals and see the exctiement in these pictures!
We wrapped up the crazy evening fairly early so everyone could get home before babes fell asleep and still have a little family time. We opened up a few presents under the tree~ Christmas jammies! I made jammie pants with a matching heating rice bag and bought long sleeve T-shirts.
FINALLY Zeke gets to open the present under the tree! That was a torturous wait!

Ready for a long winters nap!

The kids set out their iced cookies, filled the red goblet with milk and sprinkled some carrots for the reindeer. Time for bed! Eeeeeeeeeee!
The most magical thing happened  Christmas Eve.... it started snowing! It snowed and snowed and was just the most perfect, magical gift to wake Christmas morning to snow! What perfect timing! I don't believe that was just by chance!

Can't stand it one more minute!
 The room!

Sometimes things break before you can really have fun with them. Booo!
The running, the squealing and excitement is so wonderful in that moment! I like to sit and just take it all in and take our time opening each thing so everyone can see what everyone gets. But it's total chaos until everything is ripped into and discovered.
Here's a shot of my favorite part. Everyone hunched over their treasures happily playing.
Adren's tank which kept him very busy.
Eli's Millenium Falcon. Whoah! Very complicated and very awesome!

Then to bask in the exhausted happiness! My favorite!
Here's the day before Christmas...
 And the day after Christmas!
Just unbelievable!
Another truly wonderful Christmas! We are so blessed! Christ lives!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
