The countdown has begun!
Tree shopping!
Watered and decked. This poor thing was dry as a bone and droopy just two weeks later. We may just stick with the fake to settle my nerves in the future. But it smelled heavenly!
It was a gleeful morning when Buddy Ho-ho Goodfellow arrived! We enjoyed him all month.
I took the boys to get haircuts. Eli wanted none of that and said he was just there for the suckers.
Plenty of cute snuggle kitty time...
Christmas list writing time...
And the never ending Lego building time. Never. Ending.
The School Christmas concerts are a favorite! Watching my boys belt away in their Santa hats is soooo precious! Christmas excitement is definitely in the air!
Zeke's exctiement for his first program was so adorable! He's been attending big brothers and sisters programs his entire life so he was downright giddy it was his turn!
Eli has been singing his songs to me at home and gathering pictures of himself for his Christmas concert. So cute!
We visited the beautiful Temple Square one Sunday evening. Always such a festive atmosphere and that temple glows and shines with light. It really is the crowned jewel of all the beauty!
Jon took the boys to see The Hobbit~
And then all of them to see Santa.... who had left the building.... Or had he?.......
(I think these pictures are from Daddy fun Day)
Adren might be a little too skilled for the kiddie games...
I used inspiration from Abby and Sadie's ward Christmas parties and suggested our ward do a tropical/ island Christmas theme. It turned out really fun! We welcomed freinds with ukelele playing in the foyers, served Hawaiian haystacks, and for the entertainment watched the Primary children perform a hula dance then put lei's on everyone in the audience. My department (Young Women) was decor. For one of our class activities we made it seemed a million tissue pom-poms to string. We put colorful tablecloths on all the tables and strung crepe paper along the walls. It looked great! I went early that day and strung all those pom-poms on my own! It took two hours, but it looked super festive!
One of those sleepy, yummy winter nights where everyone is soooo cozy they fall asleep... (actually I think Jon was supposed to be listening to reading)
The kids chose to draw names again this year to gift each other. I made a little bowl full of ideas for them that they could draw and do anonymous service and funny things for their person throughout the month.
Really, there is nothing like the Holidays underway!
