So, the kids request on a daily basis a pet. Jon and I have talked about this and decided if it ever were to happen, it would probably have to be a cat~ for lower maintenance reasons. I knew a kitten would be more of a challenge, and wondered if there was a perfectly trained, mellow cat out there for us. So, when Ashley posted on facebook a need to find a home for their two cats because they will be moving soon, I sent it on to Jon. I knew Cade held a special place in his heart for these cats, and I knew he was sad to send them off. So, you see, I knew this would be easier if we took one of them. Jon was for it immediately, and chatted with Cade about it. It was decided we would take the Siamese, Sookie. The poor thing had a rough go the first week or two. She'd hide all day and meow all night. We didn't let her out for three weeks, because I was afraid we'd never see her again. Fast forward to now: she roams the house, we understand better what she wants, she loves to be let outside at night and comes right back~ I love that! The kids each have a day where they address her littler box, food and water, and she could not be a more behaved, sweet cat for us. We really have grown to love our Sookie!
