Little Zekey

What a fun little character our Zeke is. He is happy, energetic, creative, and says the funniest things and pulls the funniest facial expressions. I think he likes the laughs. I love his random questions throughout the day~ "Mom, are there big blue bunnies on this earth?"~ Or one night he kept calling me and calling me after I'd tucked him in and was in bed myself. I went into his dim room and asked what he needed. Holding up his little arm and pointing to the outside, "What's back there? I can't see it?" I told him it was just skin, and it looked just like the part he could see. This satisfied him and he was able to sleep. Sometimes when I tuck him in he asks me which side of his body he should lay on. He's always satisfied with whatever I pick and is able to nestle in. I love as well as his constant "Mom, I love you!'s" Such a sweet guy. He can get grumpy, which is even adorable. Once he was mad at me for not letting him do something and he told me that when he grows up He's going to drive me to the Doctors!

His energy and curiosity often drive me crazy. He loves eggs. Like loves to crack them open and look at them. He sneaks them upstairs and does this on the bathroom floor. Just yesterday he requested I help him make scrambled eggs, where he insists on cracking the egg~ he's pretty good at this by now~ and then got a plate with separate squares and cracked a raw one just to look at. (And eventually dump a whole lot stuff from the fridge and mix it all up) Whenever we go to the store he asks if we can get him a "project". Paint, play-dough, something with glue and scissors. Sometimes he'll come up to me and ask me if I need to smooch him. Well, of course I do! He'll lean me his cheek while I kiss away. I tell him we sure waited and waited for him to come to our family and now that he is here, our family is complete and soooooo happy. His response: I know, right?

It was fun to get things ready for his big day. Thanks to Christine the bulk of his gifts were Little People, which was a hit. He's also really into Super Heros and loved his new action figures (along with his big bro's). They were brought along to the park that day for a pic-nic.

Paisley made him a sweet card that really made him happy. Sooo sweet.

I found a cake that was perfect to hold the "Avenger" squad. He loved his Super Hero cake. Like 10 slices loved it.

We shared it with Grandpa and Grandma Geertsen that evening at good ol' Chuck-E-Cheeses. He fell asleep on the way home. What a little sweetie.

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
