Easter 2013

Just a few days before Easter I was chatting with Eliza, who was telling me it was hard to find the FOUR dresses for her girls this year. I hadn't done one thing yet and I panicked a little. The boys really didn't need anything new, they were re-stocked at Christmas and really don't care for new church clothes. Paisley, on the other hand is always giddy to receive a new dress. And what is Easter without a new dress? I realized I would not have time until Saturday to run out and find some things, which was pushing it too close. I looked through my fabric stash and got busy. Real busy. I made three pink ties for the boys and one pink and lace dress for Paisley. They turned out alright, if I do say so.

We dyed eggs, a favorite with all the kids still.

Right after they were all dyed most were gobbled up.
Easter morning was lovely. Beautiful weather and a special feeling in the air. We talked a little about the meaning of Easter and what our Savior did for each of us. We talked about the empty tomb and what that means to each of us.

The kids were excited to find the zillion eggs hidden around the house.

It was an extra special day at church. I really love Easter.
Afterwards Eliza was kind and invited us over for a super tasty Easter meal. She did it all! The kids of course love to run crazy with all the cousins. We did a giant egg hunt. I don't think the kids could get tired of hunting for eggs! It was lovely to be together, chatting in the darling Whitmore house. That house is cuuuuu-ute.

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
