Glory be August!

Here goes Zeke, off to his Junior year at PHS. I hope this is a good year for him! His older siblings have shown Junior year is a tough one. May Zeke sail through with less bumps!
I cannot get into my head that school is in session. Just a week before, Zeke asked for a few school items. I responded, "Yes, we'll get those soon enough, we have time." To which he responded, "You know school starts in less than a week?" Whhhaaaaaaa??????
After his first day of school, he came in through the front door. I greeted him and asked him where he'd been. "I've been at school, Mom." Ohhhhhh riiiiiiight...

Adren has started full time work at Rocky Mountain Windows and Doors! I have never wanted to steer my kids there. I didn't want them to feel it is a back-up plan, and Jon working with his family hasn't been smooth riding by any means. I've wanted them to carve their own path. But I'm happy this is an option for Adren to get full time work and a little better pay. So far, he really likes it and Jon says he's a real good worker!

Paisley bought a car! Our old Bishop posted this on the neighborhood page. I jumped on Paisley right away, knowing she had been looking, but realizing not a whole lot of options are in her budget. She test drove it with Jon and got it looked over by our car repair shop. All lights are GREEN!

It is such a fun car for her, she loves zipping friends around with the top down. Happy for her!
Landrie is getting married!!! Her wedding day was so gorgeous, and she looked stunning!
The Four-Pack all back together!

Adam and Landrie!
Loved that she had all the girl cousins as brides maids and had us all wear black. Very chic.

I thought Sadie looked so pretty as mother of the bride.

So darling and gorgeous, am I right?

The Aunties!

It has been so exciting for the Gouldings~ a second wedding! Sophie got married to Carson and I thought their announcements were sooo cute!

They got married up in Oregon and didn't want a big fan-fare, so we cheered from afar.
I'm loving sending my boys off to work each morning. So great! I can see Adren does very well with a set, rigorous schedule. He seems to be thriving.
And I'm loving my fig door with my cognac walls. Dreamy.
Now it is Eli's turn to head out on his first day of school! Is he so cute or what? He's just taking 3 classes, they are with some friends.
I've been mulling over artwork for this wall area and loved the blue print against these brown walls. I wanted an odd-shaped art piece for above it and found a canvas, "It's Fall, Ya'll!" print at Hobby Lobby. I bought it thinking I could paint something over it. You better believe my family was pretty confused when they saw it sitting on the counter.
I painted these cute horses and they'll do the job quite nicely.

I covered the fireplace mantle with plaster. I do like the lighter look, but we still have not arrived. I'll keep mulling...

Zeke got a job at Jamestown with Paisley as a dishwasher! Hooray! He is excited to work with Christian (spoiler alert- he will never work with Christian).
He doesn't love it, but it is what he is doing now.
With a hint of fall in the air, I changed out the entry stems and potpourri at the office.

This rendering of the new Provo Canyon Temple stopped me in my tracks. Mainly because it is so beautiful and grand, but also because it is such a different look from what was. Excited to see it finished!

I decided I didn't love the paintings in this spot after all- and was thrilled to spot these frames at D.I. They were obviously from a generic hotel or something, there was a black and white print of face cards in them. You better believe everyone was pretty confused when they saw them sitting on the counter...

But these prints I found are super lovely!
I am feeling extra happy for my life and to live on this earth at this time.

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
