Paisley~ Class of 2025!

My goodness, here we are! Little Paisley has worked her way out of the public school system.
I reached out to my girl, Josilyn to help with her Senior photos. We had so much fun in a nearby grove catching up on life since she was my Laurel and watching Paisley shine. Paisley brought a cute dress we found thrifting and changed into it. I told her I was pretty sure I had this exact dress! She looked so darling! It was a fun evening and the pics turned out so great!
I set everything up on the counter that day, including the candy lei's I made for everyone to give her.
My favorite is the school pictures progression. I even had one from way back when she was in preschool. Sooo adorable! Paisley's school journey started out with her in pre-K speach therapy, then taking the bus to her preschool, which was so hard for both of us! She continued with an IEP through 9th grade. She has always had to work extra hard, being pulled out for her "special class" is what she called it. It didn't come easy for her. But one thing I appreciate in Paisley is her great attitude and desire to do well. Of all the kids, she was my only one I could often find doing homework and studying for things. I really admire her and the progress she has made over the years. She sure has grown up to be a brilliant, creative, well disciplined young woman and I am so proud of my beautiful girl!

Paisley looked so pretty on her graduation day. It is an early morning with ceremony practice, then home to change and head back over to the school for the next thing. It is such an exciting day!

I really love that the graduating Seniors walk over to the Elementary and parade through the halls while the kids high-five them. Paisley said it was so fun to see her old teachers.

We made it to UVU, which is always hectic no matter how early you head over. I was down below when they started to file out. I spotted my girl right away!

The grandparents are so great to attend the madness!

When I was down below and spotted Paisley, I could see her looking up in the stands for us. I wanted her to know we were there for her so I called her name. I couldn't believe she heard me! And Esme as well!

This is always a sentimental moment. I like to reminisce over the years and remember all the years of projects, reports, reading and spelling. She did it all!

I really love these milestones and to be able to celebrate them individually.

Josie was sweet to attend. These three besties have been together since the beginning. I sure love them!

Behind them you can see Mr. Rowley. He was an Elementary teacher (I think he still teaches!). He is so supportive of all of the kids. I see him at so many middle school concerts, farewells, homecomings, so of course he's at the graduations as well. Real nice guy.

Afterwards we all headed together to get a bite to eat. Our favorite family sushi restaurant was closing so we ran up to a very crowded Apollo Burgers. It was nice to all be together for a little bit and celebrate Paisley before everyone scattered on to different things that night. Paisley headed up to Classic Skating for her Senior all-nighter.
I look forward to seeing what Paisley chooses to do from here. One thing is certain: We love and support this girl like crazy!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
