Happy FORTY-SEVEN years to Jonny!

I think it was a few days before Jon's birthday when it sunk in he was turning 47. 47 Sounds old! Especially because I was thinking he was turning 46, and that is a big difference for some reason. I told the kids- "From here on out, our job is to make Dad as comfortable as possible. We will all do our part, he deserves to live a content and comfortable life from here on out."
He'd have to tell you the details of his birthday weekend because he took the boys down to Kanab for some outdoor warm weather fun. They stayed in a hotel, slid down sand mountains, checked out some hikes and it sounds like they really enjoyed themselves.
Paisley and I however, had the most delightful weekend. We went to dinner and had some deep conversations. (You can get a little more deep at 14, ya know.) We watched movies together in the evening, we went makeup shopping during the day. I got her set up with a better system and showed her how to use some things. She had Josie over for a late movie night, and it was just as pleasant as can be.
I had another busy Sunday but set out some gifts we had picked up, hung up a birthday banner, set a fancy table, made beef stroganoff with asparagus hot and ready when the birthday boy returned. We had cheesecake, fruit topping and ice cream for dessert. It was so nice to all be home and hear about each others adventures and celebrate 47 years of a great husband and best dad!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
