Master Bath

When you start seeing these kinds of pictures in my phone, you know what is consuming 99.0% of my thoughts. Ok, 100%.

Part of my inspiration from a favorite Instagram account. I mainly liked the patterned wallpaper you see in the toilet room.
Years and years ago, I painted the walls in my master bath a dark blue. Not a great blue. I didn't love it. I then painted over that a basic tan. Then I stained the cabinets a super dark (almost black) shiny, glossy stain. I don't know why. It was so much work, and had a real blah turnout. It's the master bath, so literally no one see's it. But it is quite large and could really be grand. Now is the time to make it grand!

I really have no pics of this bathroom- why would you take a lot of pics in this room? I snapped these as I started to paint the chipped, glossy cabinets.
What a difference just this painted made in the space!
I chose a beautiful light grey/ tan chalk paint. I don't know why I've never worked with chalk paint before. I sort of missed that train. This stuff is awesome! No sanding or prep, and it sticks! I will definitely use this stuff again.
I found some really great black and white botanical wallpaper online at Home Depot for the toilet room. I figured one roll would do it for the tiny space, but ordered two just in case. It used four. I have never tried my hand at wallpapering before, and I can definitely see how the smaller the space (and going around a window, doors etc.) is much more difficult than a large focal wall. But I love how it turned out! It makes the tiny room feel much bigger and more glam!

Next up was priming the ceiling and walls with anti-mold paint. Then I painted the walls my favorite clean color from the downstairs, "Toasted White".

I'm loving that wall paper peeking out!
Next up: Tiling the walls around the bath surround. This is the area that can get mold if I don't keep on it. I think I'm done scrubbing the walls with bleach every other month. I'm tired.

It's looking good, guys! It's so fun to be in my bedroom and look into this space. It feels so light and clean!
But the floor... The tile is in good shape. And after the kids bath I am in no mood to rip it out. Yikes. I knew most of it would be covered with the biggest, most plush rug I could find. Painting the grout was the perfect solution. It brightened the floor so much and makes it look brand new!
Old floor.

New floor!
Ta~Da! The finished Master Bath~ I absolutely love the changes, and it was fun to do! It also inspired me to freshen up my bedding, touch-up paint my bed, and it truly is my favorite place to be in the house, which is exactly how it should be!

When we built I didn't add the door to the closet- It seemed like too many doors in a tight space. I've never regretted it.
