Exciting things in the air!

School has started! It was another very exciting back-to-school night at Lakeview Elementary with just Paisley and Zeke at the school this year. Of course we just have the two there now to meet teachers and find their desks. Next year, it will just be ONE.
Then it was Adren's very first day of High School! He is a Freshman, part of the first graduating class to enter the new Provo High School and attend all four years through graduation there.
HIGH SCHOOL, people!

He was a little anxious, but mainly so excited. We were all curious how the traffic flow would be through the neighborhood. Adren said as he walked there was just a line of cars stopped, trying to get to the parking lot. He's so glad it's a 10 minute walk away! They have since made some improvements, and I am glad I haven't noticed one difference in traffic. Probably because I'm still asleep.

Then it was the first day of school at Lakeview. The elementary is just right across the street, so they have staggered the times to make sure that traffic doesn't get out of control. It seems to be working out.
Zeke is starting the FOURTH GRADE this year, his Portuguese teacher is Professora Bueno. She is wonderful! His English teacher is a cute gal from our stake, Mrs. Etaugh. Both are perfect for our little Bear. He is sooooo excited!
And Paisley starting the SIXTH GRADE! My goodness, I remember 6th. She is happy to be seeing her friends, but not happy at all about the early mornings and homework. She'll do just fine.
I added some lace to the bottom of her overalls to give them length, I think they turned out cute.

After I took this I heard them say, "We weren't even touching!"
Paisley, ready to enter Mrs. Burningham's class. She's in our stake and a real fun lady.
I'm excited for her!
Zeke outside of Prof. Bueno's class.
And Mrs. Etaugh's across the hall.
Eli got to sleep in and take the first day of school off so the new 7th graders could have the day to themselves. He remembers that from last year, and Adren getting to stay home so he loved having the extra day.
EIGHTH GRADE for Eli! Last year as a middle school-er, and cute as can be!

Ahhhh...... everyone's off to their respective places. Niiiiiiiice....
And now all the back to school things are in full swing!
Paisley is on top of her homework. She comes home, fusses around with organizing her binder, gets things signed, does her homework. She's quite on the ball.
I still find these two on my floor many mornings. One gets "nervous" in the night and wakes the other so they wont be alone. I don't mind one bit. (But I think Sookie does.)

The next exciting thing in the air is Raegan and Tyrell's wedding! Raegan came over the day of her "first look" video that Ava filmed and I did her hair and makeup. It was great fun, and she looked. So. Gorge!

Isn't she the prettiest?
I was so looking forward to the temple wedding and the drive out to Elko for the reception.

Five of the six siblings.

It was a gorgeous day. After this we headed to the luncheon, and the next day out to Elko!

This will forever be such a sweet memory. Sadie had her yard soooo gorgeous! I'm not kidding! So many beautiful flowers, lush lawn, they built a PERGOLA on top of their deck!!! It all just looked so beautiful with lights and decor in every corner. Fabulous!

The sisters and I got straight to work with Sadie's direction. We kept those food tables full, running back and forth all night. All of us in the bright kitchen, laughing and working, then enjoying the gorgeous night outside dancing and laughing at the party... it was a night to remember!

"Good-bye" Sparklers!

Beautiful girls in their navy dresses.

Ollie's not sad- he pulls the funniest faces for the camera, we got a real kick out of him all night!

If this night were in a movie, you'd want to watch and re-watch, it was all so delightful and beautiful.

Let's take a closer look at Paisley's darling navy peplum dress I sewed for her.
I thought she looked so gorgeous!

A late summer rain capped off the excitement.

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
