Eli in the spotlight!

I just can't believe my blond, curly haired, sparkly blue-eyed Pie-Pie is a teenager.
Oh, Eli~ how we love you! We got here too fast!
Look at everyone gathered around to celebrate Eli Taylor. What a sweetie at thirteen!
Don't worry~ we're all here!

Since Eli's big day fell on a Saturday we could take the morning nice and slow.

We had a matinee scheduled and it was so nice to all be together and give Eli all the love.
That evening we sang and he blew out his candles in his cheese cake.

Eli has such a tender soul. He is still such a kid at heart which makes me smile. He will play so hard with Zeke- those two are so much alike and enjoy each other so much. They both wake early and I can hear them laughing and fighting and messing around. School seems to be a breeze with him. I can't imagine getting all A's and B's in seventh grade. I keep asking him, "So you really understand Math? And Science???" It all seems like no big deal. (School must be way easier now, guys.)
His art was chosen to be displayed at his school art show:
 Isn't it pretty?
I appreciate how Eli will give talks when asked, give the lesson in Deacons or when I volunteer him to speak about something at a youth activity (which happens more often than not), he says yes and does a great job. I know he doesn't love this but I appreciate that he just does it. Eli can be so quiet and really does not volunteer any information. I always joke when asking about how something went, "EASY. Don't tell me too much. I can't handle too much information."
But then at times he'll come lay on my bed at night and be so chatty and tell me all the things. He's usually up for coming along with me when I go out and about, which I love. I admire his standards with his friends and just burst with pride about him, really.

I love spotting him in all these pictures at his concert. He continues playing the saxophone. (At school, I suppose. I never hear him practice.)
He is however, mulling over the idea of joining jazz band next year.

He's soooooo cuuuuuuuute.
His best pal right now is Landon, they've known each other their entire lives. They are a grade apart and haven't always been so close. But right now they're going through a tight phase. I like hearing them laugh on the tramp, or playing basketball with Adren. I peek out my window and appreciate these years they are experiencing.

Eli at thirteen is so very sweet, smart and soooo cuuuuute. He has been so fun to watch grow and I know this year will be great for him. We love you, Eli!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
