ZEKE

I wont say I can't believe Zeke is turning NINE because honestly, I can't believe Zeke is not nine yet! He has grown into this year fantastically. He started his big day full of excitement and anticipation!

Ah, we love our Zekey so!
It was nice that his day fell on a Saturday so we could relax and everyone could enjoy his gifts.

Of course we had to have a big friend party to celebrate our smart, great sense of humor and full of personality little Zekey Bears!
Everyone was given their own playdough and they only had a few minutes to mold something as fast as they could and then tell us about it. We also played the All about Zeke hiding game, started the party with punching balls and ended with Silly string... all the fun stuff.
Everyone got to blow out their own candle on their own cupcake.

I've used this activity for parties for years and years- since I was in scouts and it is always a hit. The boys make their own hackey sacks out of balloons and bird seed. The problem was, the bag of balloons I bought were the tiny water balloon kind! They did NOT work. I told my big kids to hold down the fort while I dashed to Family Dollar on the corner and luckily found the right balloons. Whew! These parties!

Once everyone had their hackey sacks done they were able to test their target throwing abilities. Good times!

That evening we celebrated Zeke's nine years with an OREO ice cream cake! He loves Oreos...

Zeke's birthday was the kick-off to Spring Break! Zeke really had an agenda in his head of things he wanted to do over the break. (It was his birthday week, after all.) We checked them all off. Even eating at Kentucky Fried Chicken because he doesn't like that we only get take-out from there like once every two years for a pic-nick in the summer time.
I took all four kids to Provo Mall where they played a round of this game. Zeke had his eye on several places at the mall he wanted to try out. The other was a RC store where you can race cars around a track and play a game of soccer with remote cars.

Another place he wanted to go was the Aquarium. He was the only one around so just he and I went. I think we only had an hour before closing but we were able to visit every exhibit and my time with him was really fun. We stopped for dinner on the way home.

Zeke at nine is the best! He balances out our family perfectly and we sure are all just crazy as can be about him~ even when he's driving his older siblings crazy. I don't think a day goes by where we all don't laugh at something he says or does. I love his positive attitude and light-hearted personality. We LOVE you, Zeke!!!
