More fun Holidays!

St. Patrick's Day came and went in a flash. Like I mentioned in the last post, I don't believe Jon was here that day, and I don't remember where he was hiking, but the kids that were here woke to some St. Patrick's Day fun!
I don't think I've ever used Lucky Charms cereal on St. Patrick's Day. To me, it has no taste with weird, hard marshmallows- I've never been a fan. I feel the same way about Pop Tarts- yuck! But I grabbed this box because GREEN. But they're apple flavor. I think a month later they got tossed.
Oh well.
And now EASTER is right around the corner! The interesting thing about Easter this year is that it falls on April Fool's Day. I've been known to participate heartily in April Fools Day with my family, but I do like to keep Easter Sunday focused on the Savior. Jon shared lessons during the week leading up to the crucifixion and resurrection. General Conference also fell on this weekend.
This same weekend, the kids needed a new toilet. We had told them to stop using it about a week before, and it was at the top of our list to replace. With four kids sharing one bathroom, it must function! What does this all have to do with each other??? I'm sure you can put it all together.
I told Jon- how do we not have a toilet sitting out on this day when they wake??? He agreed, we ran and got one the night before. (I think he was thrilled that for once my tricks weren't aimed at him.)
The kids were very confused and baffled when they came downstairs the next morning,
mission accomplished. April Fools!
They then went on a scavenger hunt all around the house to find their Easter baskets. I love that they were all involved and into it!
I had set the baskets out the night before, and they were ready and waiting to be discovered.

Happy Easter/ April Fools!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
