A teenager is born!

Isn't he the CUTEST at thirteen? Seriously, I can't stop staring.
What a milestone for Adren! Actually, this is the year that everyone has a milestone birthday: Adren becomes a teenager; Eli turns 12, receives the Priesthood, leaves Primary and enters Young Men; Paisley turns double digits; Zeke turns 8 and gets baptized! And I thought when they were ages 2-4-6 & 8 it was cool!
With Adren now in big Junior High I no longer send a birthday bag of blow-pop suckers with him to hand out. I was going to put a little sum'-sum' in his locker at school, but he never opens it. The kids decided they would get up extra early on his big day to watch him open gifts and see him off, which I thought was so sweet.

 The Cake!

He told some friends to meet at our house after school and I took them to Blaster Tag up in Orem. Afterwards we grabbed some Pizza's and came back here for some hang-out time. He's got a real great group of friends.
That evening after his guitar practice and grandparents were kind enough to come over we cut into that ginormous peanut butter and chocolate cake and celebrated our Adren.

After a LOT of feeding and watering, we've grown a teenager! ❤️ And he's the sweetest one around. Sure love you, "Little A!"

He's doing great in school, all A's and a couple B's, which is surprising to me because at that age I would have been thrilled with all C's. He still can cause some trouble with his younger brothers and sister, we're still working on that. He loves friend time, video games, playing soccer and football and needs to practice that guitar more. He's currently the secretary in his Deacon quorum, which I like because he can come to BYC with me. I love being available for him when he comes home from school because he tells me all about his classes and friends and I just gobble it all up. He's making good choices and watching him grow up has been some of the best parts of my life. We LOVE Adren!!!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
