Eli has been asking me for a haircut. I get nervous trimming his thick, curly locks, but he'd rather I do it than the hassle of going somewhere. He wanted it pretty short and I couldn't believe the pile it left on the floor! He's such a cutie, seriously!
Unfortunately, the shock was a bit much for him and he wore a beanie for the next while until he got more used to it. Oh dear.
Decking out my entry table is one of my favorite spots to decorate. I suppose it is because no matter what I add, it looks great!
I love this table so much! It sat in Granny Woolf's entry my whole life. It is so beautiful, I think if the house was on fire, this is the only thing I'd grab! I always take the first weekend of December and decorate the office entry. Last year I brought in my pencil tree- but I need it this year! Oh well, the decor focus on just the entry will have to do. It looks and smells very festive!
My dear friend, Kelly, planned our ward Christmas Party. There was an amazing dinner of BBQ brisket and she had everyone sign up for a talent. There was quite the variety performed. She performed a magic show and I was thoroughly entertained.
I keep adding to my entry table and it looks more cheery every day. What isn't more cheery than red taper candles? My friend Sandra asked if we could have her daughter, Adeline over after church while her surprise party was set up and people arrived. Adeline was happy to come over and Paisley helped me entertain her. I was even able to pull together a quick birthday bag for her to take home. I've known her since she was born, when I would stay overnight and get up with her in the night while her dad recovered from a broken back. She is the cutest little gal! It has taken a village to help this family, and our village loves them!
I found the cutest, tiny, magnetic owls that sit on a door hinge and watch over your space. I wanted to give them as a gift to my CRU for Christmas. I went with the tiny theme and found tiny boxes, tiny pine cones & ornaments, and greenery with tiny stickers for each of their initials.
While at home working one day, I kept hearing siren after siren wiz by. I finally went out to see what was going on. Our neighbors garage was on fire! I sent this pic to Jon. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but a singed recliner was dragged out onto the driveway. It seemed to be caught in time and all is well. Thank heavens for quick responders! I kept thinking right before Christmas, I'll count my blessings extra this year!We gathered at Debra's to catch up. She produced these darling ice cream fruits! They all tasted like the fruit and were dee-licious!We have a cozy Christmas house- But where's the snow???I snapped a pic of Ricardo's Christmas windows. It made me happy to see festive windows are still being painted and a thing- feels very nostalgic! The house gets glowier and glowier! I have to pause and reflect at this scene. It has been a long time coming and I can't even believe we have this big beautiful space, complete with a decorated tree! I am so grateful!
The view from the outside is just as good!Adren was gone overnight for work. I took this time to clean up his room good. He works full time, which is pretty hard labor. He comes home and tries to rest for a minute before showering, doing laundry, and then spending every second with Ella, so I wanted to help him out. I realized I don't have many pictures of this space.
While out on a walk around the block during a work-from-home day, I realized I never really get to see the views around our house since we built the addition, because our yard is so small. It looks so different than it did before!
We all gathered at Paul and Sharon's to celebrate Paul's big 80th. He threw his own party with pizza and cake. Christine brought 80 of these little squishy's for us to hide all over the house. It was a fun night celebrating Paul. We all sure love him so very much because he loves all of us so well. He is first on the scene when needed, happy to help and always so generous. He continued to text us all over the next day or two letting us know he was finding them all.
Paisley thought up and put together the cutest gifts for her friends. She emptied Altoid boxes and filled them with candle wax. She found a bunch of photos of each friend and decorated based on each one's favorite colors and things to paste on each tin. They turned out so darling! It has been so warm and balmy this holiday season. We haven't had any snow, just warm and sunny days. It sure gets dark early though. Here's Jon and I chatting with a neighbor on a warm winters night. This has been a special holiday season. It is so great having Adren living at home, and getting to know Ella. I love chatting with Adren and hearing how he's feeling and his plans. I love them both so much!
I am prepping to have a full house on Christmas, which is just how I like it!
