Amazing Paisley turns FIFTEEN!

This girl... Paisley is a real sweetie. She was really looking forward to her birthday and spending a little time with her closest friend, Esme.
We all got up early to wish her the best year and watch her open her gifts. After school we all went out to a new Sushi place she and I discovered the month before and really liked. We were missing Adren because he had to work, but it was fun to have Esme join us.
Afterwards we went back to our house for Paisley's favorite fruit cheesecake. Mmmmmmmm.....

Paisley and Esme are as close as close can be. It's been fun watching them grow over the years. I'm grateful Paisley has a close girlfriend. They are so cute together- but so loud and crazy! Geesh!
I think of Paisley surrounded by brothers. She shares a room and bathroom with them, it's all she knows. She sure brings a softness and order to those areas, and it makes me so grateful these awesome boys are influenced by this awesome girl.

I realize I turn to Paisley more and more as she gets older. For example, if I need to run a few errands to some places I know she'd enjoy, I wait until she gets home to see if she'd like to join me. If I see a show I think she may like to watch, I'll wait to watch it with her. She's always open to chat over things, or just tell me about things going on with her friends. We spend a lot of time chatting. We love spending a good amount of time strolling through Ulta, or Hobby Lobby, showing each other our finds. She's just really fun to hang out with. I am so grateful for that! She is a loyal friend, she feels things deeply, she is creative and will often need to create something- anything! I know how that is. She's good at problem solving, she see's the silly side of so many things and I love her laugh. Paisley is a delight all along the way. We love that she shines her light and makes things beautiful around her. We love you Paisley!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
